1 Create MySql database When you click GO your directadmin control panel will popup.You need to enter a unique database name,username & password,Make a note of these as you will need them GO
2 Install shopping cart After clicking GO you will will be directed to the shopping cart installation area,You will need to enter the information for database you have just created in step 1 GO
3 Password protect admin directory One of the most important areas to protect is the administrator back end.Without password protecting this area you would allow others to gain full control over your site!! HERE
4 Protect configure.php (set to 644)

While installing your store we needed to have full control over the configure.php file to enable us to store all your settings,now the store is installed we need to stop others from damaging your site.This file is protected by changing the permisions to 644

Delete the Install Directory

 

The installation directory is a security risk. once you are happy with your site you need to Delete the Install directory

It is good practice to re-name the directory to "setup" by clicking HERE.It is better than deleting the directory as you may need it at a later date if you wish to re-install the site.

If you re-name the directory to setup,you must also password protect this directory HERE

6 You Need to set the page title By Default the store is called "Your Store",this can be changed to the name of your store,you need to click go then search for the text 'Your Store' and change to what you like GO
